(Hartford, OH)…After showers broke up for much of Saturday morning and early afternoon, rain finally arrived at Sharon Speedway at 2 PM and with rain in the forecast throughout the night, the decision was made to cancel the “Steel Valley Thunder” program.
Sharon will now turn its attention to next Saturday (April 21) and the season’s only appearance by the Super Late Models as they will run under the ULMS banner for a big $3,000 payday. The annual spring Open Stock Car Shootout will also see those racers battling for a $1,500 pot. The HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks will also be in competition. Gates open at 5 with racing at 7. More info on this event will be released this week.
Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.
