(Hartford, OH)…Persistent rain and a forecast of more throughout the entire weekend along with high temperatures in the 40s have forced Sharon Speedway to cancel racing action scheduled for this Saturday night (May 6) for the second straight week. The “Steel Valley Thunder” opener will now take place on Saturday, May 13 featuring the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Big-Block Modifieds, HTMA/Precise Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars in a Penn-Ohio Series event, and the Summit Racing Equipment Econo Mods. The Penn-Ohio Stock Car Series will also contest their 2016 “Apple Festival Nationals” make-up feature.
The May 6 program was to include an appearance by the Junior Sprints and Mini Stocks. The Junior Sprints for kids have been rescheduled to May 20. The Mini Stocks have been rescheduled to June 3, which will also include their 2016 “Apple Festival Nationals” make-up feature that has now been rained out three times.
