Big Rig Semi Trucks lead the way to Sharon this Saturday; Tractors & Diesel 4x4 Trucks to complete the 2019 Super Pull

September 10, 2019

(Hartford, OH)...USA-EAST Pulling will take over the sticky surface at Sharon Speedway for the night of Saturday, September 14. This super event will feature four different divisions for Semi Trucks – the only time in 2019 where all four divisions will run on the same track at the same time.  Pulling begins at 6:30 p.m.

Headlining the pull will be the awesome BIG RIGS Modified semi trucks sporting over 3000 horsepower from turbo-charged exotic engines.  Justin Fredo from Salem, Ohio leads the MAC Trailer point race this season with his “Cat Scratch Feverâ€?, a Mack with 3406 CAT power, from the powerful Sanders Pulling Team of Ravenna, Ohio.  Also scheduled to participate is Jeff Lautenan and “Moody Blueâ€? from Ashtabula County, Ohio, the current second place truck in the region.  This Peterbilt is also powered by Caterpillar.

The famed PA POSSE Semis will also pull at Sharon Speedway.  This group of single turbo-charged machines will showcase the current #1 truck in the region “Work ‘N Progressâ€? owned and driven by Nate August from Freedom, Pennsylvania.  This Kenworth was recently the winner at the Buck Motor Sports Park in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  And Roger Herrington from Mantua, Ohio will bring his Pete to the pull.

Two classes of semis are dedicated to the over-the-road driver.  The first will be for strictly street driven bobtails that are normally driven on the road and haul a load on a daily basis.  The second is for street licensed semis that have been tweaked a bit and exhibit high-powered competition characteristics.

All semi trucks are welcome to park in the pit area at Sharon Speedway where a special area will be designated.  And in keeping with the dedication to the over-the-road driver theme all drivers of semis will be admitted free of charge to the pit gate on the night of the event IF they drive their semi to the pull and park in the pit area.

The USA-EAST Hot Rod V-8 Tractors will be on the program for Sharon Speedway and will compete in their final event of the 2019 season.  This will make the class very important as the season champion will be crowned that night.  These uniquely styled tractors have been fitted with giant 521 cubic inch automotive style motors and are some of the engineer marvels of the sport.  Dean Kibler from Hanoverton, Ohio is the reigning champ with his “Good Vibrationsâ€? a Case 600 with big block Chevy power.

Rounding out the Super Pull program will be an open class for Diesel 4x4 Trucks sponsored by Zeigler Diesel of Canton, Ohio.  This class of street driven trucks is open to the world.  The turbo-charger is restricted to a 2.5 inch opening and complete registration for the truck is necessary for entry into the class at Sharon.  The “Punisherâ€? Chevrolet and Bill Daufen from Ellwood City, Pennsylvania is the reigning champion in this USA-EAST sanctioned division.

TICKETS:  Adult tickets are only $13.00 and are sold at the door only.  Kids ages 6-12 are just $5.00.  Pit passes which allow access to view the trucks and talk to the drivers are $25.00 with no discounts available.  The Pit Gate opens at 3:00pm and patrons may enter the grandstand after 4:00pm on Saturday.  Grandstand seats, both in the enclosed area and in the open bleachers is open.

Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.  The facility showcases state-of-the-art food service and offers beer sales to patrons. Open general admission eating in the partially enclosed grandstand is included with all tickets.  For more information, check out the website at www.sharonspeedway.com or call 330-772-5481.
