June 9, 2021

(Hartford, OH)…Sharon Speedway is set for a busy stretch of racing with three events over five days.  It kicks off this Friday and Saturday (June 11-12) with the "Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals" followed by Ohio Speedweek for the FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars and the Terry Bowser Excavating RUSH Sprint Cars on Tuesday night (June 15).  Friday night will get underway at 6 p.m. with open practice, Pro Stock qualifying, and a Pro Stock King of the Hill.  Saturday night will be a complete show for the Penn-Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series and the Sportsman Dwarf Cars with racing at 7 p.m.

Friday night's open practice will begin at 6 p.m. and continue until 8.  The practice is open to cars of any kind.  Following practice, the Penn-Ohio Pro Stocks will group qualify, which will set the heat race lineups for Saturday's "Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals".  Concluding the night will be a king of the hill event for the Pro Stocks.  General admission is free on Friday night.

Saturday's third annual "Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals" presented by Can-Am, Blue Ox Timber, and E&K Equipment will again pay $10,000 to-win and will be the richest Pro Stock event in the region.  In 2018, Brent Johnson fended off Chris Schneider in a near photo finish for his first career Sharon win and the $10,000 prize.  The 2019 event saw Curt J. Bish charge from the 15th starting spot to pass Bobby Whitling on lap 50 and kept the standout at bay over the final one-third of the race to capture his biggest career win; Bish would then go on to win the Sharon track championship.  The COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the 2020 event.

Other sponsors making the "Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals" possible include Wedge Motorsports, Lynchwood Spirits, Bish Heating & Cooling, Les Frickshun, Crawford Custom Consulting, ITC Crane, R & R Enterprise Auto Sales & Garage, R.K. Virgile Scrap Metals, RCR Automotive, SS Chassis & Supply, Stoneboro Recycling, Witmer’s Feed & Grain, Beck’s Seeds, World of Wheels, Close Racing Supply, Shaffer’s Auto & Exhaust, Centerline Collision, May’s Towing, Roostit Chassis, STAAR Trucking, The Dirt Network, Shingledecker Welding, and Razor Sharp Logistics.

The Gibson Insurance Agency Pro Stocks have completed just two shows during the 2021 season at Sharon with Bish winning both on April 24 and May 15.  Bish leads 2018 champion Chris McGuire by nine points.  Chase Lambert has been a surprise with a pair of top fives and sits third in points over Hunter Exley and veteran Larry Kugel.  Bish will be in search of his third straight win of the season on Saturday and his second straight $10,000 "Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals" victory.  For more information on the Penn-Ohio Series, check out  www.pennohioprostocks.com.

Also on the card on Saturday night will be the Sportsman Dwarf Cars in their first of three appearances of 2021 racing for $500 to-win.  The 2021 events are being presented by Joe's Radiator Service, Sara Cipriano at Waterstone Mortgage, and Tumbleweed Transportation.  The Dwarf Cars will return on August 7 and September 10.

The Dwarf Cars have appeared 22 times at Sharon with 12 different winners.  Josh Walker leads the way with seven victories followed by Matt Berger at three.  Joe Grzelak, Jr. and Todd Walker each have a pair of victories, while single victories have gone to Angie Grzelak, Rod Jones, Shayne Meadows, Steve Mix, Jr., Vivian Jones, Jacob Teeters, Teddy Williams, and Teddy Williams II.

Sportsman Dwarf Car Payoff: 1. $500 2. $300 3. $250 4. $200 5. $185 6. $175 7. $165 8. $150 9. $125 10. $110 11. $100 12. $90 13. $80 14. $70 15-24. $50. Tow/NQ: $35.

There is no Sharon registration fee.  One-way driver radios are mandatory; channel 454.000.  AMB/MyLaps transponders are required for the Stocks; rentals available for $25.  If you have yet to register for the 2021 season, please bring the registration form with you completed  http://www.sharonspeedway.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/RegistrationFormSharon2021.pdf

Fans can not only experience viewing from the frontstretch and backstretch grandstands, but also from the infield fan zone.  The fan zone, which includes a concessions and restrooms, debuted in 2020 during the COVID-19 shortened season.  Sharon is the only track in the area to have viewing from the unique infield perspective.  There will be times throughout the night when fans can cross on the frontstretch back and forth.

On Friday, grandstand/fan zone admission is free, while pit passes are $25.  Pit pass sales and tech inspection will begin at 4 p.m.   Grandstand/infield fan zone admission for Saturday for those 14 and over is $12, while senior citizen admission is $10.  Patio seating upgrades are just $5 and fan suite seating upgrades are just $20 over the cost of general admission.  These can be upgraded on race night at the track office.  As always, children under 14 and parking are always FREE.  Pit passes are $35.  As a reminder, coolers nor outside food or beverages are not permitted.

Coming up on Tuesday, June 15, Ohio Speedweek for the All Star Circuit of Champions will be at Sharon for $6,000 to-win along with the Terry Bowser Excavating RUSH Sprint Cars.  Warmups begin at 6:15 followed by All Star Sprint qualifying and racing.
