WORLD OF OUTLAWS LATE MODELS TO INVADE SHARON THIS WEEKEND; $12,000 TO-WIN FRIDAY NIGHT & $15,000 SATURDAY NIGHT

July 9, 2025

(Hartford, OH)...After a weekend off for the Independence Day holiday, racing returns to Sharon Speedway in a big way this weekend as the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Models will invade the Hartford, Ohio 3/8-mile oval for two complete shows! On Friday night (July 11), the World of Outlaws will race for $12,000 to-win and will be joined by the Alcon Mechanical Econo Mods. "The Most Powerful Late Models on the Planet" return on Saturday night (July 12) for $15,000 to-win along with the non-wing RUSH Sprint Cars. Warm-ups for the Super Late Models will get underway each night at 6:30 p.m. with qualifying and racing to follow.

On Friday at 4:45 p.m., there will be water games in the midway with Bobby Pierce, Nick Hoffman, Max Blair, and Jake Timm that will coincide with the Willy’s World Kids Club presented by Millcraft Barns. A special autograph session with Blair will take place from 5:30-6 p.m. The band Soundbite will perform after the races on Friday from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.

A cornhole tournament will take place early on Saturday with details to be announced. There will be a World of Outlaws driver autograph session on Saturday at 4 p.m. featuring Bobby Pierce, Brent Larson, Brian Shirley, Cody Overton, Dennis Erb, Jr., Drake Troutman, Dustin Sorenson, Ethan Dodson, Jake Timm, Nick Hoffman, Ryan Gustin, Tanner English, Tim McCreadie and Tristan Chamberlain. Posters featuring the Platinum World of Outlaws drivers will be available for autographs.

Pierce, the 2023 World of Outlaws Champion, leads the Series to Sharon. Pierce, who has a Series best six wins in 2025, has a 50-point lead on Hoffman in the championship chase. Hoffman meanwhile has four wins and is in search of his first title. Gustin, who excels at the Hartford, Ohio, sits third in points and will look to add to his two victories this season. Troutman is the closest full-time WoO racer to Sharon as he resides in Hyndman, Pa. Troutman is fourth in points with one win. Fan favorite Tim McCreadie has come on strong this year driving for western Pennsylvania car owner Boom Briggs. McCreadie is fifth in points, but third best in wins at three including one at nearby Raceway 7 in May.

Though no longer a full-time WoO racer, local favorite Max Blair will be eager to compete this weekend at Sharon. Blair, who has one career Sharon Super Late Model win and eight in a Crate Late Model, will be sporting the Willy's World wrap once again this weekend to help raise awareness and provide hope, courage, and resources to children with hidden disabilities like autism.

The World of Outlaws Late Models have made 15 prior appearances at Sharon with 12 different winners! Last year saw Bobby Pierce earn $25,000 for winning both nights as the opener was his first career Sharon victory. It took until 2023to finally get a repeat winner as Ryan Gustin backed up first career WoOwin in 2022. Also, during the May 2023 three-night swing, Chris Madden scored a pair of victories including his first ever at Sharon. Devin Moran also won in 2022. In 2021, eventual NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kyle Larson won a thriller. Brandon Sheppard won a 'race of the year' candidate in 2019 as the WoO returned for the first time in more than nine years. Other WoO winners at Sharon include Darrell Lanigan (2010), Tim Fuller (2009), Donnie Moran (2008), Chub Frank (2007), Rick Eckert (2006), and Davey Johnson (2004).

The Econo Mods will fill out the program on Friday night. The Alcon Mechanical-sponsored division will race for $800 to-win in their fourth program of the season. The May 10 opener saw Garrett Calvert score his third career win. Joe Gabrielson has won the last two events giving him four wins over the past two seasons in limited action. The Econo Mods have boasted car counts of 25, 30, and 23 thus far this season.

The non-wing RUSH Sprint Cars will make their fifth appearance of the season also racing for $800 to-win on Saturday night. The RUSH Sprints competed on May 17, June 7, June 21, and June 28 and have averaged 21 cars per event as defending Series Champion John Mollick is a perfect four-for-four. Mollick, who has one career Big-Block Modified victory at Sharon, has now won seven of the last eight RUSH Sprint races at the track dating back to last season after being shutout at Sharon in prior seasons. Those victories though remain Mollick’s only ones of 2025 as he's been held winless outside of Sharon on the circuit. Mollick leads RUSH's $5,000 to-win Billy's Garage Weekly Series points.

Summit Racing Equipment will present the hard charger award on Friday night to the Econo Mods and Saturday night to the RUSH Sprint Cars. The driver that passes the most cars in the feature each night will receive a $100 Summit gift card. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will be the driver that finishes highest in the feature.

The Performance Bodies "Nosed Out" program will award a $100 Performance Bodies gift card redeemable only at Wedge Motorsports to a driver in the Econo Mods on Friday night. The recipient will be the driver that most closely beats out another competitor for any finishing position on the lead lap. Tiebreaker will be the driver with the best finishing position.
