(Hartford, OH)...After another successful “Lou Blaney Memorial”, Sharon Speedway returns to action this Saturday night (August 9) for a “Steel Valley Thunder” program part of the 96th anniversary season. The big five-division show will feature the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Big-Block Modifieds along with the Gibson Insurance Agency Pro Stocks, HTMA/Precise Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, Alcon Mechanical Econo Mods, and the Crown Vics all for just $15 in general admission! Racing begins at 7 p.m. It's Flynn's Tire, Hovis Auto & Truck Supply, and Sara Cipriano at Novus Home Mortgage Night. It's also Twin-State Auto Racing Club Night with free general admission for club members.

The Willy’s World Kids Club presented by MillCraft Barns will include a driver autograph session from 5-5:30 p.m. featuring Rick Regalski (Big-Block Mods), Jake Dietz (Pro Stocks), Darin Gallagher (RUSH Mods), Joe Gabrielson (Econo Mods), and Brian Krepps (Crown Vics) followed up by driver and fan engagement activities from 5:30-6 p.m. Willy’s World is a non-profit organization dedicated to educate, support, guide, and provide resources to families and children with hidden disabilities, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Saturday is just the third race of the season for the ground-pounders as they will battle for $2,000 to-win in their final tune-up before Monday’s $10,000 to-win Super DIRTcar event! Back on June 21 when the Modifieds completed their first event of the season, Garrett Krummert lapped up to sixth place as he topped the 21-car field for his first big-block win in two years at Sharon. Krummert was primed for his first “Lou Blaney Memorial” victory last Saturday night when he took the lead on lap nine and held the top spot through lap 21 before fading to fifth at the finish. Dalton Slack meanwhile was able to charge from 21st to the lead and took $4,100 back to Canada for his first career Sharon victory!

The Pro Stocks have completed four events thus far this season with three different winners. After being shutout of victory lane in 2024, Chris Schneider has won both of his 2025 starts as he upped his all-time win mark to 20, which moved him into sole possession of eighth place on the division’s all-time win list. His most recent win came on June 28 in the $2,000 to-win "Ray's Race" for the Penn-Ohio Championship Series. Former UMP Modified standout, Scott Stiffler, won for just the second time in a Pro Stock on June 21. Nick Kocuba pulled off an upset career first Sharon victory on July 19.

The HTMA/Precise Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will make their fifth appearance of the season on Saturday night. Defending Series Champion Chas Wolbert has won three of four races. Wolbert has now upped his all-time division leading tally at Sharon to 25. Ayden Cipriano won the June 28 show. Wolbert also leads both the $3,500 to-win Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Weekly Series and the $1,000 to-win “Route 7 Rumble” Series points for the RUSH Series.

The Alcon Mechanical Econo Mods will be the third Modified class on the card on Saturday. The May 10 opener saw Garrett Calvert score his third career win, while Joe Gabrielson nailed down impressive back-to-back wins on June 21 and June 28. Coleton Longwell finally nabbed his first career win in the division worth $800 on July 11. And most recently, Brendan Warner became the second first time Sharon Econo Mod winner this season. The Econo Mod car counts have been strong all year averaging 27 per night including 30 on two occasions. The Econo Mods will continue to race for the $600 to-win purse if 24 or more cars are present.

Rounding out the big five-division program will be the new Crown Vic division. Saturday will be the fourth of five scheduled events for the 2025 as Coleton Longwell made history winning the first ever event at the track on June 21 then Travis Reeher drove Longwell's car to victory the following week. Brian Krepps of nearby Hubbard, Ohio scored the most recent win on July 19. The Crown Vics will return for the final time of the season on August 23. The rules are available at the following link: https://www.sharonspeedway.com/downloads/get.aspx?i=1061848. For tech questions, contact Rick Robinson at 724-893-6898.

Summit Racing Equipment will present the hard charger award on Saturday night to the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds. The driver that passes the most cars in the feature will receive a $100 Summit gift card. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will be the driver that finishes highest in the feature.

The Performance Bodies "Nosed Out" program will award a $100 Performance Bodies gift card redeemable only at Wedge Motorsports to a driver in the Pro Stocks or Econo Mods. The recipient will be the driver that most closely beat out another competitor for any finishing position on the lead lap in those divisions. Tiebreaker will be the driver with the best finishing position with the second tiebreaker being the driver who had the lesser margin of defeat to the feature winner.

There is no Sharon registration fee. One-way driver radios are mandatory; channel 454.000. AMB/MyLaps transponders are required; rentals available for $25. If you have yet to register for the 2025 season, please bring the registration form with you completed https://www.sharonspeedway.com/downloads/get.aspx?i=1006835
